Become an Adviser

Anne - the Deputy Manager in charge of training our Advisers writes:

"Citizens Advice provides a very comprehensive training programme for those who are interested in becoming generalist advisers. This normally takes about a year to complete during which time trainees will study all aspects of the advice process and the main enquiry areas such as benefits, money advice, employment, housing, relationships and immigration.

Training is given through tutor-led courses, watching other advisers at work and using both written and computer-based materials.

This training continues once the trainee has become competent and there are opportunities for all advisers to keep up-to-date with changes in legislation or other issues. "

"The move to larger premises has brought great benefits for training in the Bureau. We now have a much more spacious environment for trainees to work in with a large room downstairs which can be used for study and group training sessions.

If you are interested in becoming an Adviser, please contact Anne on 01732 361 709 and we can arrange for you to come in for a chat."
